Lauren Martin was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Legal Studies from Washburn University (B.A. Cum Laude 2020). During her time in the legal studies program, she was an active member of the mock trial team, where she discovered her passion for trial advocacy.
Lauren pursued her legal education from Washburn University School of Law, graduating with the prestigious title of Dean’s Honors. While in law school, Lauren received a CALI award for receiving the highest grade in her Professional Responsibility & Ethics course. Additionally, she was an Advanced Legal Intern in the Washburn Law Clinic serving clients who could not otherwise afford legal representation. Because of her dedication in the Clinic, Lauren was awarded the Washburn Law Clinic Public Interest Scholarship and received the Outstanding Clinic Team award from the National Clinical Legal Education Association.
After graduation, Lauren practiced family law prior to joining DeVaughn James. Her experience representing parents and children provided her with the insight into the emotional and physical tolls that people go through during a legal battle. Lauren is able to combine her legal skills with the compassion she has for others when representing her clients. She is dedicated to providing her personal injury clients with the support and empathy they need while advocating for the compensation they deserve. Lauren is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
Outside of the office, Lauren loves spending time with her family, her two dogs, Luna and Bandit, and enjoys thrift shopping in Kansas City. Go Chiefs!
