Garrett Heath has devoted his young legal career to fighting for people who are facing difficult challenges in their lives. Coming from a criminal defense background, he knows what it takes to stand up for the little guy, while maintaining an open and transparent line of communication with clients. He prides himself on being that person to lean on during clients’ difficult times in their lives, while maintaining that eagerness to fight for them.
After graduating from high school in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Garrett accepted an academic and an athletic scholarship to further his education as well as play baseball at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Friends with Honors and Bachelors of Arts degrees in both Human Services – Sociology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Pre-Law.
While at Friends University, he met his wife, Jennie, who played on the Friends University volleyball team. (Fun fact – Jennie was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at her junior college for her successes on the volleyball court!) Following his graduation from Friends University in 2016, Jennie and Garrett moved up to the Kansas City area to be closer to Jennie’s family and plan out the next steps of their lives. During that year, he was accepted to continue his education at Washburn University School of Law. He graduated a semester early from Washburn University in December of 2019.
While in law school, Garrett was given the amazing opportunity to be a research assistant for the Professor in charge of Bar Passage for law students. During that time, he assisted the Professor in publishing an Article in the Texas A&M Law Review titled Building A Better Bar Exam, and he also was quoted in an excerpt in another article about better ways to move forward with the Bar Exam.
When he is not in the office diligently working on my clients’ cases, you will find him, his wife and their three dogs on their 4.5 acres. He is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan, even naming his first goldendoodle Ned after Ned Yost, former manager of the Royals. For Garrett; nothing beats a backyard BBQ, a bonfire, my dogs, and some CHIEFS football!
